Contemporary Art programme broadcasted by GBC Television featuring Gibraltarian artist Paul Cosquieri (COSQUI). The programme covers many of the different branches of Modern and Contemporary Art such as Cubism, Abstract Expressionism, Neo Expressionism, Conceptual Art, Surrealism, Grafitti Art, Mixed Media etcetera, etcetera. ABRACTUS consists of 12, half hour programmes in which Paul will tackle various techniques he normally employs in his art and also explain a few commonly known, yet frequently misunderstood contemporary art definitions. Every programme will see Paul attempting to complete an entire painting in the technique and or styled chosen for the day. The twelve programmes have been filmed in Pauls studio and are entirely the efforts of a two man team comprising of GBCs Andrew Agius, whose role has been that of filming, producing and composing the music score, whilst Paul has taken care of researching, painting and presenting the series. The idea to do an art programme has been an ambition of both Paul and Andrew for a long time but had had to be postponed on various occasions due to work or personal commitments. Eventually, both Paul and Andrew managed to get their heads together around a style and format which is both new and refreshing and as Paul mentioned, the series is very much in line with modern TV Food shows such as those by the likes of Jamie Oliver, Rick Stein, Gary Rhodes etc but where the food been cooked has been replaced by painting material and …
