://_THE_MANY_FACES_OF_DENN!S_HOPPERWEEN was inspired by the man himself, Dennis Hopper. The second Madsteez set foot in Hopper’s recent exhibition at the Ace Gallery in Los Angeles, he knew something had to be done. “I’ve seen a lot of shows and this is the most inspirational body of work I have ever seen,” says Deren. “I wanted to do a portrait of him the same way he did portraits of his friends and people he was inspired by like Warhol and Lichtenstein.” Madsteez went on to meet with Hopper, have a photo shoot, and create his most intricate painting to date. “It took 6 months, but it was well worth it,” says Deren. The 96″ X 48″ painting has yet to be seen by the public and will be on display at his Chelsea art show.

Pero, para ser fieles al espíritu del movimiento, no nos podemos conformar con una simple sucesión de diapositivas y así surgió este original corto. Julián Larrauri nos cuenta “una historia muy triste” utilizando los cuadros de los máximos representantes del movimiento Pop art Andy Warhol, Lichtenstein, Hamilton y Hockney. “All you need is love” it started being just a presentation of the artistic movement Pop Art. But to be loyal to the spirit of the movement we can´t be satisfied with a mere succession of slides that´s how it emerged this original short. Julián Larrauri tell us “a very sad story” throught the pictures of the most significant artists of the Pop Art movement: Andy Warhol, Lichtenstein, Hamilton y Hockney.

Roy Fox Lichtenstein (1923 – 1997) foi um pintor, americano, da Pop Art. No início, seus quadros são abstrações geométricas que evoluiram para pinturas semi-abstratas de inspiração cubista. Sua obra torna-se gradualmente mais expressionista, e, em1961, inicia-se nas pinturas Pop.
